The Circular Communities Scotland Reuse Consortium was delighted to be represented at the Circular Communities Scotland 2022 Annual Conference ‘Circular Solutions; Supporting Communities’.
Hosted at the RADDISON BLU Hotel in Glasgow on November 23rd, the 2022 Annual Conference was Circular Communities Scotland’s first in person conference in two years, and the team were delighted to welcome members and the circular third sector in Scotland back in person this year.
The theme of ‘Circular Solutions; Supporting Communities’ focused on the crucial social and environmental impacts that Circular Communities Scotland members have in their communities, who are working to survive and thrive under the cost of living and climate crises.
Reuse Consortium Coordinator Nicola delivered a talk alongside Jordan Easton, the Operations Supervisor of Cunninghame Furniture Recycling Company entitled ‘Partnership Driven Solutions’. The talk celebrated the success of the Reuse Consortium since it’s inception, and it’s impactful relationships with all of it’s members, including Cunninghame Furniture Recycling, which shared details of it’s successful mattress repurposing project.
Circular Communities Scotland was delighted also to launch its 2022 Impact Report of the same name, ‘Circular Solutions; Supporting Communities’ which celebrates its members, who are ‘on the ground’ across the country, responding to changes in standards of living for communities, and providing life changing services, which protect the environment and have invaluable social outcomes. The Reuse Consortium’s work is celebrated in a case study on page 12, as Circular Communities Scotland’s ‘longest running project, going from strength to strength since 2016.’
Circular Communities Scotland and the Reuse Consortium would like to extend a special thanks to host Dr Heather Reid, and speakers; Minister for Green Skills, Circular Economy and Biodiversity Ms. Lorna Slater, Iain Gulland CEO of Zero Waste Scotland, Simon Flemington of Moray Waste Busters, Mariam Brown of Ostrero, John Dickie of Child Poverty Action Group, Jon Molyneux of FareShare UK, Beth Mukushi of SCVO, Eimear Montague of Northern Ireland Resources Network, and Oscar Planells of RREUSE for making our conference such a success.
