The Circular Communities Scotland Reuse Consortium is thrilled to announce that we won the Market Builder Award at the UK Social Enterprise Awards.

All winners from the Social Enterprise Awards Scotland were put forward for the UK Social Enterprise Awards, and we were delighted to be recognised at the UK level against some incredible runners up.

This award acknowledges organisations that actively create more opportunities to buy from social enterprises.

We are extremely proud that our hard work and vision for reuse to be at the heart of procurement decisions across Scotland has been recognised by these prestigious social enterprise awards.

The Reuse Consortium offers Local Authorities, Housing Associations, and other Public Sector organisations easy access to a range of quality-assured reuse furniture and household goods from local providers to furnish their properties, without having to go through a tendering process. The Consortium is made up of 13 members, all charities or social enterprises that save furniture and homeware from landfill to reuse and repurpose.

Peter Holbrook CBE, the chief executive of Social Enterprise UK and organiser of the awards, said:

“The last year has been a difficult one for businesses across the UK, and it has been no different for social enterprises. The Awards were a real evening of hope and inspiration and brought home the sheer ingenuity, adaptability and determination of the social enterprise community, which has continued to deliver for the people and communities they work with and support.

“The winners include businesses which are breaking down barriers for groups marginalised in the workforce, organisations at the heart of local economies, and those finding innovative ways to tackle the climate crisis. The ever-growing movement of social enterprise truly represents business at its best. Congratulations to all of the winners and to Circular Communities Scotland for their award.”

Thanks to everyone who has supported our application and celebrated our win with us and the Circular Communities Scotland team.

We’d also like to celebrate the Circular Communities Scotland member who won their category too!
